Pak puts out ads: Seen any missing nukes?
Washington: A series of unusual ads in the Pakistani media advising people how to handle missing or stray radioactive material should they come across it has raised hackles in the West and revived a debate about the country’s well-chronicled reputation for nuclear irresponsibility and adventurism. The ads, which appeared last week in several Urdu-language newspapers, featured the large, yellow radiation symbol and a warning to report any lost or misplaced isotopes, according to Nature magazine which first reported the matter.
Though they claim that none of the nukes, or radio active materials have been stolen/lost, everyone has a cause of worry, the A Q Khan proliferation episode. He being the spear head of Pakistan’s Nuclear venture, had apparently given designs and plans to Iran.
