Damn i have been doing a lot of reviews these days …
I’m now back in my room after watching the 2nd show of Om Shanti Om (OSO). Yesterday i went for the same movie at the same time and boy i’m happy that i didnt buy the tickets at 120 for black. At least i only wasted 80.
Farah Khan’s attempt to repeat the same success of Karz .. hmmm .. lets say didnt just hit the mark.
30 years ago the hero Om (Shah Rukh Khan) is in love with the then heroin of the celluloid, Shanti (Deepika). She is portrayed as close to the Nagris. Then the villain Mukesh (Arjun Rampal) tries to kill her towards the end of the first-half. Om tries to save her and they both die.
The movie resumes 30 years later and Om is reborn with the silver spoon. He is now son of a celebrity and is the hottest hero. He remembers the past when he frequently has vission-spasms. OMG!!. Shanti is now reborn as Sandhya a wannabe actress (ohh what a vicissitude of fate … ) Together they plot against the villan Mukesh and take revenge.
Darde Dil … Darde Jigar … Karz was faaaar faaar betterrrrr (Sing in the same tune).
The movie is plagued by boringly lengthy unnecessary scenes , making me think that Farah wanted to fill the hindi classic 3hrs. There is no real acting at display bar Arjun Rampal who played the villain. He has done justice to that role.
What to expect? – aahhh Deepika, Deepika, Deepika…
Some sober sided comedy in the first half
And an all star song …
The song Deewangi Deewangi, is a commendable piece of work. Its the only thing of creativity that Farah deserves a pat on the back. Managing 31 stars!!! Whoop …
Another interesting act is being put up by Abhiskek Bachchan and Akshay Kumar. They really play a part that they will never do in any movie for any one. They played themselves and made excellent comic scenes on themselves.
The movie in short could have been made a little more better. Its a one-time-watch-only and if you can wait and rent it from the neighborhood video shop still better.
thats it …
