It seems that the Hindi film industry has been drained off its list of stories, if u can call that, and gone back to the past. If this is a success, we would probably see lots more of flashbacks and soap & soap boxes, separated twins... This movie would have been best as a 5 minute music video.
I thought it would have been best for it to remain a comic film, mocking the storyline of old movies, but seeing the 'comic' part of Akshay Kumar and Abhishek Bachan, it would have been murder for the audience..

:) .. SRK with the much hyped 6-pack, and the gorgeous Deepika, OSO was hyped a lot and it comes as no surprise that it grossed better than JWM.
And i bet that teens flocked to see Deepika and the 6-pack. Even men in 40s have hit gym (and i'm starting tomor... :D )
The credits part by Farah, i agree that it shows all those who were instrumental in the making of the movie. No wonder why Farah has a good reputation in the film fraternity. I cant even name another director for whom 31 actors would act for a song.

talking about Brew ... hoping to meet the famous 'coffeecoversation' soon ...

Dhivya, the movie might stand for all that you have said. But the fact remains that movies are for entertainment and the entertainment quotient is poor for the movie.
Yes it stereotypes of the 70s has been portrayed remarkably well. Had this movie released along with Jab We Met, than Saawariya, it wouldn't have totaled even half of its collections now.

FYI i went to this movie keeping my commonsense at home :)

Dear the credits are classic Farah style. Even Main Hu Na has it .

This movie is a celebration of the decade (70's) as old hindi movies showed it to us, a world of technicolour convertibles and kitsch sets and bling and unashamed subtlety. This is a movie that is completely in love with itself. The film has glorified the stereotypes of the 70's, a reminiscence of the filmy ma, the much hyped sindur and yaari shaari... this movie is funny at times, goofy at times and witty at times all in all not a single dull moment... for someone who hates SRK to say this it is a big thing.. Bollywood is a bizarre industry I guess you should never go to movie trying make too much out of it.. its just a no brain entertainer.. and I love the way farha has done the credits thats worth a mention besides the film fare scene...

ya right ... that cleared most of the doubts ... it was a film made by film stars for themselves. No wonder why we have even worser movies ... that makes no sense at all

I found the movie boring too and a big disappointment. I think it was made for the film industry people, not for the normal audience.
